Fall 2017 Men’s Spiritual Weekend Scheduled

North Port, FL — The Florida Conference United Methodist Men have scheduled their fall men’s spiritual weekend for October 13-14, 2017 at the Life Enrichment Center in Leesburg.

Men from the Florida Conference United Methodist Men have been gathering in Fruitland Park (Leesburg) every fall since 1948. Back then gas cost 16 cents per gallon and NASCAR held its first race for modified stock cars on Daytona Beach. Over the years a lot has changed.

But what has not changed is the desire for men to come together with a common goal to become more Godly men. We know there are a lot of distractions out there that challenge us every single day. As men, we have brought the challenge into our garages, our basements and the like as we created “Man Caves” filled with wide-screen TVs and other toys.                                                                                                                                    Our goal for the weekend is to give our men the tools needed to renovate their man cave in such a way it brings Glory to God! Please bring as many men from your local church as you possibly can, including your pastor. We will be ending the weekend Saturday at 4:00 so all of our men and their pastors will be home for a good night’s rest before Sunday morning’s worship service in your local church.

UMM is undergoing a renovation so it’s fitting that the event title for this year is “Man Cave Renovation.” The event will feature keynote speaker, Mike Hudson, Lead Pastor at Christ United Methodist Church in Venice, FL. Mike is a dynamic young preacher who will take us on an expedition of the caves of Elijah, David and Jesus over the course of the two-day event.

Music will be provided by the Connection Praise Band from Mandarin UMC, Jacksonville.

Registration link coming in mid-July 2017.
