UMM Elects New President

Fruitland Park, FL — The Florida Conference Committee of United Methodist Men unanimously elected John Delaney as its new leader, filling the vacancy of left by the early retirement of John Rogers.

Rogers stepped down to take a role on the Board of Lay Ministry of the Florida Conference United Methodist Church.

Delaney has served as district leader for the Florida Conference South West District for the past three years. He will fill the remaining 18 months of John Rogers term, effective July 1, 2017 through December 31, 2018.

Delaney has over 18 years of men’s ministry leadership experience, working with Promise Keepers, Florida Men of Integrity, Iron Sharpens Iron and more.

He lives in North Port, Florida with his wife of 31 years, Shawn. The Delaney’s have three daughters, Shannon, 29 (Husband Joel); Kelsey, 27 (Fiance Cory); and Kristin, 23; and two grandsons, Lucas David, 3; and Elijah Patrick, 1. The family worships at Edgewater United Methodist Church in Port Charlotte.
