Simpson Memorial United Methodist Church Partners with John E. Ford School

Simpson United Methodist Fight Against Hunger 2016The United Methodist Men (UMM)/Young Men ministry of Simpson Memorial Church in Jacksonville partners with John E. Ford English and Spanish Montessori Pre K-8 School in the collection of non-perishables to feed the children and youth of the community.

For the second consecutive year, the UMM have collected and distributed non-perishables to the school to be sent home with the children and youth of the community for weekend meals. The collection and distribution is to ensure they receive balanced meals on the weekend while school is not in session, as the school has learned that many go without food on weekends. In year two, first aid kits were also donated to the school.

John E. Ford SchoolJohn E. Ford Principal, Paula S. Renfro, said “Your kindness and charitableness is unmatched. You have brought joy and a feeling of relief to our families who did not know if they would have meals for their families during the weekend. On behalf of all the parents, students, faculty, and staff that Simpson United Methodist Church has blessed, we want to say thank you for making this time of giving special at John E. Ford.”
